The amino N-atom forms intrachain hydrogen bonds. Abstract

A novel one-dimensional coordination polymer bis(2-aminopyridine)-μ-bis(dicyanamido) cobaltate(II) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and infrared and ultraviolet visible spectroscopies and the structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
