Abstract
The treatment of piperidinium salt of 4-naphthyl-3-cyano-2-thiopyridines with an O -peracetyl-α-D-pyranosyl bromide in dry acetone provides a new and simple method for the synthesis of 2-(β-D-pyranosylthio) pyridines in high yields.
