These adducts were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR and electronic spectral studies. The spectral studies revealed the trans octahedral geometry of the adducts around the Ni(II) metal ion. All the adducts were paramagnetic and non-electrolytic in nature. Abstract

A series of adducts of o-hexyl dithiocarbonate of nickel(II) [(C6H13OCS2)2 Ni] have been synthesized in 1:2 molar ratio by the reaction of aqueous solution of NiCl2.6H2O with aqueous solution of potassium salt of o-hexyl dithiocarbonate.
