Abstract

: Colossendeis is a deep-water pycnogonid genus with a large world distribution. Some specimens may attain giant dimensions of almost 70 cm in leg span. Only C. geoffroyi had been recorded previously from Brazil. Deep-waters in the South Western Atlantic, particularly in Brazil, have been sampled only sparcely. In this paper we report C. arcuata and C. minor for the first time in the South Atlantic.
