Printing from a USB Flash Drive without PC

Abstract

In today’s digital world, USB (Universal Serial Bus) data transfer has gained wide popularity. For transfer of data from one USB storage device to another, computer or laptop is required. It is time consuming and cumbersome tasks to every time involve such large devices only for the data transfer. So to overcome this problem we design a compact system which does the data transfer from one USB storage device to another using Raspberry Pi module. The system is also capable of printing the data directly from USB without the assistance of laptop or computer. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is configured for displaying the result. A Hex Keypad is used for selecting the type of operations such as copy, paste, print, delete etc. The designed system is battery operated which makes it portable. It is also cost effective and also saves the power as it eliminates the need of host computer.
