Simulation of residential mobility: The decision to move process and the search and selection process

Abstract

We are constructing MEGHARP, a relatively simple and politically relevant midscale model of a regional housing system. In this paper, we have documented a key portion of the model building process: the factors considered in designing our simulation of (1) a household's decision to move, and (2) a household's search for an selection of a housing unit.
