Abstract
. This article analyzes the presence of some tales and romances in Don Quixote to demonstrate that the concomitance of the logics of orality and writing is fundamental in the narrative aesthetics proposed by this novel. The review of this intertwining exemplifies the relevance of oral literature in the Golden Age and shows that the assumption that Sancho represents orality and don Quixote the literate is inaccurate because it ignores the nuances of the oral and the written that are pres-ent in both characters.
