Abstract

The search for energy alternatives of renewable origin and the reduction of greenhouse gases from the decomposition of waste from slaughter of the camels and the burning of cattle manure have made the present work to be carried out with the objective of obtaining biogas In batch under anaerobic conditions from the mixture of cattle manure with slaughter residues from the Carnal of Pedegral-Arequipa-Peru. Three mixtures of substrates were used: one Ml consisting of 80% cattle manure, 20% bovine and water rumen and two M2 for 20% cattle manure, 30% bovine ruminai content, 50% of blood from cattle and water and three M3 for 10% of beef manure, 20% of ruminai bovine content, 70% of bovine blood and water. These were subjected to different hydraulic retention times (2, 4 and 6 days) and mesophilic TM temperatures (39, 45 and 50°C), resulting in the highest biogas production of 507.0965 ml of biogas/kg of mixture with M3 at a TRH of 6 days and at a TM of 39°C explainable by the high content of N that stabilizes the pH and the isobutyric and valeric acids that increase the biogas production, existing in blood and ruminai content respectively.
