Abstract
Urban transportation has been the main component of China's urban carbon emission. Under the background of carbon emission reduction, the development of low-carbon transportation while ensuring stable economic growth has become an inevitable requirement of the whole social and economic development. The research on the decoupling relationship between urban traffic carbon emission and economic growth has great theoretical and practical value for building a low-carbon transportation system with coordinated social and economic development. Based on Tapio Decoupling index, this paper constructs a decoupling index model of urban traffic carbon emission to analyze the decoupling state of urban traffic carbon emission and urban economic development in China. Through the example verification, it is found that the decoupling state between China's urban traffic carbon emission and economic growth value shows an improvement trend on the whole, although it shows varying degrees of fluctuation.
