Abstract
A pupillary examination takes very little time and does not require expensive equipment. Unfortunately, many ophthalmic personnel do not take the time to thoroughly evaluate pupillary function. Pupillary examinations can be easy if divided into specific elements for assessment. These elements should include color, shape, size, equality, and reaction to stimulus. This article will briefly review some of the more common pupillary abnormalities and review the steps of the pupillary examination. (Insight 2001;26:119-26)
