Diagnosis and Treatment of Radiation Proctitis

Abstract

Radiation proctitis (RP) is a common side effect of radiation therapy to the pelvis. It often manifests as rectal bleeding. Endoscopic argon plasma coagulation (APC) is considered the best treatment option for symptomatic patients. Herein, a case with classical diagnostic features in an 85-year-old male with recent treatment for prostate cancer including therapeutic intervention using APC has been presented.
