Abstract

Canoparmelia pustulifera Benatti, S.M. Martins, Vos & Holt is a new lichen species discovered during a trip near Parque Estadual de Itapua, in Rio Grande do Sul State, Southern Brazil. The species is the second pustulate Canoparmelia species discovered after C. albomaculata , and contains perlatolic acid and several other still-undetermined medullary substances.
