Abstract
P,P-Dicyclohexyl-N-cyclohexyl-phosphinothio-formamidodimethylgold(III), [Me 2 Au{Cy 2 PC(S)NCy}] (Cy = cyclo-C 6 H 11 ), C 21 H 38 AuNPS, has been synthesized by reacting [Me 2 AuCl] 2 with Cy 2 PC(S)N(H)Cy in methanol solution in the presence of K 2 C0 3 . The crystal structure of the title compound has been determined at room temperature. The colorless crystals are orthorhombic, space group P2 1 2 1 2 1 with unit cell dimensions a = 12.860(1)A, b = 14.975(1)A, c = 12.230(1)A, Z = 4 and D X = 1.595 Mg m -3 . The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by a full-matrix least-squares procedure to final R = 0.039 using 1453 reflections. The [Cy 2 PC(S)NCy)] - anion chelates the gold atom via the sulfur [Au-S 2.400(5) A] and phosphorus [Au-P 2.344(5) A] atoms and the remaining two sites in the square planar geometry about the gold atom are occupied by the two methyl groups [Au-C(2) 2.08(2) A and Au-C(3) 2.03(2) A].
