Truncated Lévy sum approach to intensity statistics in random lasers

Abstract

We present a novel approach towards understanding intensity statistics in random lasers by modeling emission dynamics in terms of truncated Lévy sums. Calculated statistics in our model are in excellent agreement with experimental results.
