The research data were collected through qualitative research methods in terms of document analysis.In this descriptive qualitative study, the textbook “Sauat aşu” prepared and distributed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2016 and the textbook “İlkokul Türkçe 1. Sınıf Ders Kitabı” prepared and distributed to primary schools by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey were analysed in terms of reading and writing instruction, themes, text types, related activities and distribution of visual materials. A total of 42 texts in the books were examined in terms of genre and theme. The results were presented in the form of tables in the frequencies and direct quotes from the texts were made and interpreted. Abstract
The purpose of this study is to compare the native language textbooks of the 1st grades of Kazakhstan and Turkey. Each issue is forwarded to subscribers, libraries and international indexing institutions within one month after its publication.
