Issues for chlamydial susceptibility testing

Abstract

It becomes painfully clear that there are a number of critical issues that must be addressed if susceptibility testing of chlamydiae is going to be regarded in the same light as that for other microorganisms. The NCCLS should be encouraged to institute a subcommittee to study this problem as has been done with other areas of susceptibility testing. It is through this consensus mechanism that uniformity of testing, if not clinical relevance will be achieved.
