Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of gender socialization as an important tool for modeling behavior in society, the identification of historical, cultural and social contexts that allow men and women to comprehend and use the impact of gender stereotypes on the processes of their self-realization. Particular attention is paid to issues such as: gender stereotypes that determine the status-role characteristics of men and women; gender factors reinforcing the dominant position of men and discriminatory practices against women; gender differences and assessment of the nature of the influence of these differences (positive or negative) on the individual life path of a man and woman, the possibility of their self-improvement; gender socialization as a condition of psychological and social development of an individual. The pressure of gender stereotypes negatively affects the social consciousness of a person, and in some cases harms the psychological health of the population as a whole. The author proves the thesis that there are a huge number of factors that affect the gender-role socialization of a person, starting from birth and throughout life, that gender stereotypes play the role of schemes through which people are more likely to notice and remember examples that confirm sustainable beliefs about gender. In conclusion, the author came to the conclusion that it is advisable not only to conduct educational and corrective work with the adult population of the society, revealing the mechanisms for constructing gender identity in different temporal and sociocultural contexts, but also to introduce a gender approach in all spheres of society's life, justifying all kinds of changes in identity in men and women in a situation of social transformations that are broadcast by a person throughout life and form gender roles.

Journal of Computing and Information Technology is an international peer-reviewed journal covering the area of computing and information technology, i.e. computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, information systems, and information technology. CIT endeavors to publish stimulating accounts of original scientific work, primarily including research papers on both theoretical and practical issues, as well as case studies describing the application and critical evaluation of theory. Surveys and state-of-the-art reports will be considered only exceptionally; proposals for such submissions should be sent to the Editorial Board for scrutiny. Specific areas of interest comprise, but are not restricted to, the following topics: theory of computing, design and analysis of algorithms, numerical and symbolic computing, scientific computing, artificial intelligence, image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, embedded and real-time systems, operating systems, computer networking, Web technologies, distributed systems, human-computer interaction, technology enhanced learning, multimedia, database systems, data mining, machine learning, knowledge engineering, soft computing systems and network security, computational statistics, computational linguistics, and natural language processing. Special attention is paid to educational, social, legal and managerial aspects of computing and information technology.
