Abstract
The paper presents the results of an analysis of the wear process under conditions of dry technical friction
of surface layers after selecting external surface pressure burnishing methods. The possibility of making
changes in the burnishing process leading to an increase in resistance to wear under conditions of a simulated
exploitation process is described. The possibility of conscious control of the process of material deformation
in the zone of contact between the tool and the workpiece in the course of the surface layer formation process
by changing the method and technological parameters of the pressure burnishing process is used. The course
