Abstract
EnglishAbstract:This article presents the results of a research project that analyzes the discourses related to the case of Gabriela Blas, an Aymara woman who lost her 3-year-old son in the Chilean highlands and was subsequently accused of being responsible for his death. With a focus on gender and intersectionality, this study examines the judgment of Blas's second trial, as well as related discourses pertaining to the fields of law and journalism. To this end, the study employed a qualitative methodology and discourse analysis. This article concludes that the trial sentencing Gabriela Blas contains discourses that install an ethnocentric, patriarchal and colonial perspective and contribute to a vision of motherhood imposed by the dominant culture.
