Abstract
Analytical Social Ontology: For an Interlocution with Sociological Theory The purpose of this article is to bring the discussions of Analytical Social Philosophy to the ontological turning point that occurs today in the Social Sciences. To that end, some of the most representative authors of the Analytical Social Ontology on the topic of collective intentionality are presented. It is shown that, similarly to what happens in sociological theory, its main representatives diverge on the priority between the micro or the macro levels of social reality, defending positions identified with holism (John Searle and Margaret Gilbert), moderate collectivism (Raimo Tuomela) or relational individualism (Michael Bratman). It is argued that the similarity of this problem with the sociological discussions on the micro/macro relationship represents an important platform for dialogue between these disciplinary traditions.
