Abstract

ABSTRACT In this study, predictions by leading network technology companies and current literature on 5 G technologies have been investigated to shed a light on the foreseeable future of the developing communication systems infrastructure. Research has been carried out on the new-generation optical communication infrastructure, which is developing in parallel with the requirements of 5 G and beyond mobile communication systems, and optical-wireless communication (OWC), free-space optical communication (FSOC), visible-light communication (VLC), and optical-camera communication (OCC) is presented.
