In order to reveal the key points for the introduction of renewable energy in the electrical grid, we performed the statistical analysis of the composition of Spanish the power sources. Based on the Spanish power generation and demand, as well as the type of power source by area, we analyzed the error in demand forecast made by REE. Furthermore, we performed a Cross-correlation analysis for the time series of energy source data. As a result, we could understand buffering systems like International Power Interchange are inevitable for a high percentage of unstable renewables and unpredictable demand.
