Analisis Tanda Baca Muṣḥaf Al-Wāthiq Billāh Riwāyat Shu‘Bah, Brunei Darussalam

Abstract

In 2006, the Brunei Darussalam government Printing Department published Muṣḥaf Al-Wāthiq Billāh with two versions of riwāyat namely Riwāyat Shu‘bah and Ḥafṣ ‘An‘ Āṣim. However, the mushaf Al-Wāthiq Billāh Riwāyat Shu‘bah is still unknown to many. There are significant differences between the two mushafs in terms of the punctuation used. This difference causes confusion among readers who do not know the knowledge of Qirā’āt. Therefore, this study would like to introduce the mushaf Al-Wāthiq Billāh Riwāyat Shu‘bah and its reading marks. The method used in this study is a qualitative method that is by collecting data and analyzing information through reference and research on related studies through library methods. This study found that there are twelve unique punctuation marks used in the writing of the mushaf of Al-Wāthiq Billāh Riwāyat Shu‘bah that are not used in any of the mushafs of the narration of Ḥafṣ.
