Abstract
To povezujemo s hidrogeografskimi znacilnostmi zaledja oziroma povirje reke, kjer so vplivi cloveka majhni. //
The paper presents the results of an evaluated methodology for mapping rivers’ hydromorphological properties as a part of the methodology for evaluation of rivers’ ecological status. A field mapping of hydromorphological elements of the Nadiža River in a one kilometre long section showed very natural morphological status of the river in a view of the majority of the parameters; Hydromorphological Modification Index of the section is 0.09 and Hydromorphological Quality Index is 0.91 respectively, which classify the Nadiža in class “very good ecological status” according to the hydromorphological properties. This is a consequence of the hydrogeographical characteristics of the hinterland, representing the headwaters of the river, where human impacts are negligible. Methodologically, the evaluation of assessed methodology showed that the professionals conducting the field mapping should be properly experienced in order to assure sufficient objectivity of the results. At field assessing of different river morphological properties, the usage of various gadgets for field mapping is recommended.
