Abstract

Organic/inorganic nanohybrids and quantum dots have attracted widespread interest due to their favorable properties and promising applications. Great efforts have been made to design and fabricate versatile nanohybrids. Processing structure-properties-performance relationships are reviewed for compound quantum dots. In this review, various methods for synthesizing quantum dots as well as their resulting properties are discussed. This review focuses on the design, properties, sensing as well as energy applications of organic/inorganic nanohybrids as well as quantum dots.
