In this context, the country has paid more and more attention to calligraphy education(CE), especially for the training of calligraphy for primary and middle school students. Now CE has become an important subject in various schools. At the same time, data mining(DM) research is developing very rapidly, and it is also applied in many industry fields. It can find association rules between data, so as to make up for the defects in some fields, and be improved and developed. This paper studies the current situation and countermeasures of CE in primary and middle schools based on DM, mainly using questionnaire survey and experimental analysis methods, and intends to use the advantages of DM to better promote CE in primary and secondary schools. This paper investigates and analyzes the content of calligraphy courses offered in 3 schools in M city and the degree of the influence of CE on the writing level of hard pens, brush writing, physical and mental health, and the development of good habits. According to the survey results, schools at all levels have their own emphasis on the content of calligraphy courses. After the students have been trained in calligraphy, the level of hard pen and brush writing, the development of physical and mental health, and the development of good habits have been significantly affected.
