Abstract

This paper provides thyristors voltage regulator (TVR) which reliably operates at various characters of the load and is able to inject different levels of voltage in the transmission line. A method to eliminate overvoltage on thyristors during TVR operation is proposed. It also provides reliable operation of TVR during short circuit in power lines. The analysis of the TVR operation during a short circuit condition is performed. The simulation models to carry out studies of the TVR operation are proposed. The results of TVR operation on physical and simulation models are presented and analyzed.
