A review of the theory of Fourier-transform Raman spectroscopy

Abstract

This paper reviews the process of obtaining a Fourier-transform Raman spectrum and examines each step from recording the interferogram through the Fourier transform. The effects of the real world as manifested by finite resolution, beam divergence, asymmetric interferograms and discrete sampling are discussed and how the compromises imposed by them are accommodated.
