Nefrocalcinosis y calcificaciones sistémicas asociadas a granulomas grado 4 por polímeros estéticos. Presentación de caso y revisión de la literatura

Abstract

We present the case of a 42-year-old man with chronic kidney disease grade 5 in hemodialysis who has been injected for 14 years by non-professional health personnel, subcutaneous material (silicone polymers and paraffin oil) to obtain an appearance athletic subsequently developed an exceptional bone mineral disorder, characterized by: hypercalcemia, deficiency of 25 hydroxy Vitamin D, increase of 1,25-OH-Vitamin D and decrease of intact paratohormone. In addition, calcifications in the places where I apply the material such as: thighs, lumbar area and in target organs such as abdominal aorta, nephrocalcinosis, renal lithiasis and granulomas. This case exemplifies the systemic calcification developed by the interaction between the inflammation of the injected foreign material and the bone mineral metabolism.
