Abstract
Inter-Tower Communication Network (ITCN) is a new paradigm for digital terrestrial television infrastructure based on the novel technical features of ATSC 3.O. In the current proposal, a Remote Broadcast Center connected via Internet Protocol (IP) is used to increase the flexibility of transmitters to manage content. An ITCN protocol is developed with bidirectional communication between towers. Finally, a new service based on an IoT network is offered to exchange information on environmental parameters between both transmitters. As a result, the potential of digital broadcast networks as a bidirectional communication infrastructure is revealed through appropriate protocol definitions and physical layer configurations.
