Abstract

Considering the narratives of the printed newspapers and the career path of Edson Nery da Fonseca, the study here outlined presents the stage of narratives in newspapers about professionalevents in the field of librarianry in the life of the librarian and teacher. The pages of the Brazilian newspapers, as well as some opinion columns he wrote, are taken for evidence. From the methodological point of view, the study arises from an interpretative, exploratory and documentary perspective based on bibliography. For this research, it becomes notoriousthat newspapers guide our look as a documentary source used to analyze parts of professional events in the life of the respective writer, poet andteacher. The results indicate fragments of newspapers, which in our view are news that deserve to be highlighted by Edson Nery da Fonseca's memorablecontribution to the Brazilian librarianship, but that by looking at newspapers, one can evaluate these highlights about other news that mark his professional path. On this, we highlight how newspapers can be used in various points of the narrated protagonism. It is concluded that Edson Nery da Fonseca was ahead of his time. These were some questions, present in the narratives of newspapers that leave open the reflection on his memorialistic legacy in the face of his dedication to the Brazilian librarianxhip.
