Abstract
The article describes a new association of scrub vegetation found on the limestone hills in the Republic of Moldova. This association is new for science and includes secondary, xerophilous-xeromesophilous, calciphilous phytocoenoses, formed as a result of the steppe vegetation being replaced by shrubs. The new association – Crataego monogynae-Cerasetum mahaleb Pînzaru has been grouped in the alliance Berberidion vulgaris Br.-Bl. ex Tx. 1952, order Prunetalia spinosae Tx. 1952, class RHMANO-PRUNETEA Rivas Goday et Borja Carbonell. ex. Tx. 1962.
