Will there be a European videotex standard?

Abstract

This paper attempts to characterize and to qualify the CEPT-Videotex proposal. It also comments on some national approaches. Beginning with the expectations of videotex both from the PTT's and from the users' points of view it summarizes the advantages and utility of the CEPT standard. The utility of the standard should be the most important criterion behind the design of any standard.
