Este documento examina los principales eventos economicos en el pais durante la epoca, contrastando el comportamiento de la economia colombiana con el de otras de la region y resaltando el impacto de las fluctuaciones globales sobre el desempeno economico local. \nEnglish Abstract: The 1923-1931 period was one of great economic developments globally characterized for the expansions of the economy and international capital flows following the First World War and the beginning of the Great Depression. For the particular case of Colombia, the creation of economic institutions such as the Banco de la Republica, the rapid increase of foreign debt and the development of an ambitious plan to build transportation infrastructure, marked the period.
