Premier signalement de la forme albinos de Sarcoscypha coccinea (Pezizales, Ascomycota) dans le département du Rhône (France)

Abstract

First record of the albino form of Sarcoscypha coccinea (Pezizales, Ascomycota) in the French department of Rhône. The discovery of some pure white specimens of Sarcoscypha coccinea in the south of Lyon (France), in an alluvial forest along the Rhône river, is an opportunity to present and illustrate this remarkable taxon, about 60 years after the last records in the Lyon area. A nomenclatural question is raised about the name to be applied to this particular form, and the name Sarcoscypha coccinea f. albida is proposed as a new combination. Distribution data in France are also provided.
