Abstract
The 2021 midterm parliamentary elections made it clear that the bulk of Mexican voters keeps on Lopez Obrador`s side. At the same time, the vote pointed out that the support rate had dwindled: a part of the population was aggrieved with the reforms being carried out. The article takes up the steps taken by the left government in the field of economics and in the strife against corruption and organized crime, as well as the actions aimed at getting back the state control over the strategic energy areas and at solving social and pandemic-caused problems. The author highlights that some of such steps, especially those which deal with legal enforcement, haven`t been successful because of being thwarted by the existing global economic problems, tensions with the United States and hard pandemic blow. That fact has clamped down on the ruling party`s support rate which has got shrunk. The political fate of the left-wing government will fully depend on its ability to achieve tangible outcomes in the remaining three years.
