Formative assessment and feedback: a review

Abstract

Abstract This review examines definitions of formative assessment and the factors that control the effectiveness of feedback. It summarises the various ways of delivering formative feedback and discusses the problems that may be encountered when assessment practice is altered to improve feedback.
