المحاجر الکلاسیکیة بمدینة بطولیمایس Classical quarries in the town of Ptolemais

Abstract

رغم الاعمال المیدانیة و الدراسات المتعددة التی قامت بها بعض البعثات الاجنبیة فی مدینة بطولیمایس (طلمیثه الان) مثل بعثة جامعة شیکاغو و جمعیة الدارسات اللیبیة البریطانیة و بعثة جامعة وارسو الان ان اغلب اعمالها انحصرت داخل اسوار المدینة. تمتد محاجر المدینة على لمسافة 5 کم  بمحاذاة شاطئ المدینة وهی اکبر محاجر مدن اقلیم قورینائیة   وهو ما طرح عدة تساؤلات عن حجم المدینة و علاقتها بالحکم البطالمة و الذی سمیت على اسم احد ملوکها و المراحل التاریخیة التی مرت بها . حاولت هذه الدراسة تحدید اهم محاجر المدینة و بعض المقابر التی بنیت او نحتت فیها وعلاقتها بحجم المدینة التی تمتد على مساحة 250 هکتار .  Despite the field work and the numerous studies carried out by some foreign missions in the city of Ptolemais (Tolmeita now ) such as the mission of the University of Chicago and the Association of Libyan Studies and the mission of the University of Warsaw now that most of its work was confined inside the walls of the city. The city's quarries extend over a distance of 5 km along the coast of the city, the largest quarry in the cities of Cyrenaica , which raised several questions about the size of the city and its relationship to the Ptolemaic rule, which was named after one of its kings and historical stages. This study attempted to identify the most important quarries of the city and some tombs that were built or sculpted in relation to the size of the city, which extends over an area of ​​250 hectares
