Peripheral blood morphology and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in ARDS from SARS-Cov2: a case report

Abstract

We report the clinical case of a patient with Covid-related acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), in which clinical hematology laboratory (cytometric and morphological data) monitoring was performed at various stages of the disease. A correlation was observed between morphological changes and clinical severity. Our case, also, highlights the presence of a subset of smudge cells identified as neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). Copyright © 2022 EDIZIONI MINERVA MEDICA.
