Eigenvalue analysis is performed on base case and afterwards with the replacement of conventional generation by equivalent size of renewables. It is observed that use of combination of renewables has a better damping than alone. The simulation results confirms and demonstrates the same. Abstract

A consistent research is being carried out in studying Power System stability as more and more renewable resources are replacing conventional generation. It becomes easier to integrate renewables to the grid because of the advancement in power electronics devices. Such huge amount of penetration can cause severe problems to stability of power system. Hence this paper analyzes the influence of large size solar and wind resource on small signal stability. IEEE 14-Bus system has been chosen as a base case.
