Galactorrhea Associated with Infertility in a Military Hospital

Abstract

Galactorrhoea was found to occur in 24% of infertile female patients presenting at Military Hospital, Yaba. 46 out of 57 patients had no other cause to explain their infertility. II, however, had pelvic and other endocrine associations. The endocrine factors found were examined. Hyperprolactinaemia is suggested as a probable mechanism of amenorrhoea following oral contraception.
