STANISŁAW NIEMCZYK AND HIS PHILOSPHY OF ARCHITECTURE

Abstract

The departure of Stanisław Niemczyk (1943-2019), has created an immense void in Polish architecture... A man of great talent and great sensitivity and with a strength of character that is hard to find nowadays, has left us. His architectural designs, materialised primarily in the religious space, have left us in awe already at the moment of their construction. He saw many flaws in today's reality. This has its root in the lack of certain rules. He believed that a designer's primary rule of conduct was... Thinking! He rejected styles, so-called "languages of form". His architecture, although picturesque in its forms, has its own unique style, dynamism, charm and atmosphere.
