Abstract
A unified view of recent results in the algebraic theory of linear, time-invariant multiinput-multioutput control systems is presented, with emphasis on the unity-feedback system (one-degree-of-freedom design) and the more general two-input two-output plant and compensator configuration (four-degrees-of-freedom design).
