In addition, sudden rises and falls in investments that are open to outside intervention necessitate intense follow-up by investors. The concept of addiction, which was initially only associated with substances, brought up the issue of addictions, which were not directly related to substance intake, but were demonstrating related characteristics with substance in “Substance-related and addictive disorders” category of DSM-5. In particular, the pathological gambling habit is a pioneer in this regard. In addition, there are increasing studies in the literature towards behaviors in daily life such as gaming and internet shopping demonstrate some characteristics of addictions caused by substances.
