Abstract

The vehicle motion is detected and tracked along the frames using the modified Lucas-Kanade algorithm. The distance traveled by the vehicle is calculated using the movement of the centroid over the frames and then the speed of the vehicle is estimated. The application is developed using MATLAB and SIMULINK. The average speed of a car is determined from various frames (here, considering total number of frames is 50).
