Abstract

This Paper investigates the improvement of power- system transient stability by means of static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) based damping controller, the structure of the design has been made as an optimization problem by employing the real coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) for the optimal parameter tuning. Remote and local signals are compared considering the time delays. The robustness of the proposed controller has been tested under different conditions for single-machine infinite bus. The simulation results are presented and compared with PSO-based damping controller.
