Abstract

A series of β-cyclodextrin (β-CyD) was immobilized onto the crosslinked styrene/divinylbenzene copolymer which embedded polyglycidylmethacrylate. The resulting β-CyD polymeric adsorbent possesses a specific inclusion recognition with the aromatic compounds. The structures and properties of the grafted copolymer were characterized in detail. Their application for the adsorption of phenol and its derivatives was also assessed.
