Abstract

This paper is the introductory article of a special issue of the Revista de Administracao de Empresas devoted to sociomateriality and more generaly, the materiality turn in management and organization studies. After summarizing key tenets of the materiality turn and the history of a workshop focused on it (the Organizations, Artifacts & Practices workshop), the article describes avenues for further research about sociomateriality and materiality grounded into societal dimensions and more political directions. It stresses in particular Latin American traditions which could be helpful to extend the debates.
