Abstract
This paper presents several computer capacity planning case studies using a modeling tool, BEST/1, derived from the theory of queueing networks. All performance predictions were evaluated based on the selected service levels such as response times and throughputs. Advantages and disadvantages of using the modeling approach are also briefly discussed.
