Abstract

We report that offset filtering in optical MSK narrowband frequency discrimination receiver offers significant improvement in receiver sensitivity. Detection of 40 Gb/s optical MSK signals is shown robust to a residual dispersion tolerance of up to plusmn595 ps/nm.
